Vijay is the first Tamilian!

Vijay has achieved a rare distinction of being the first Tamilian to be selected for the Asianet Awards. Every year, Malayalam actors, actresses and technicians are honored with the Asianet Awards and this year, for the first time, Tamil star Vijay has been selected for this honor. He will be receiving the award under the Best Tamil Actor category at a function that is to be held on January 9^th, 2011 in Kochi.

Mammootty will be felicitated with the Superstar award while Mohanlal will receive the Goldenstar award in this function. Nayanthara has been selected as the best actress for her role in Bodyguard.
